Lost Creek Vineyards
A Vineyard Valentine

It’s practically upon us, that singular day known for promoting the sales of nougat stuffed chocolates and cheap champagne while simultaneously sending women across the country scampering to squeeze into their frilliest frocks. The very same that sets the teeth of thousands of men on edge, fretting over complex mental processes like choosing between red or yellow roses. Yes, I’m talking about Valentine’s Day, the international holiday of romance and love. Not to worry though gentlemen, this year you can impress the object of your desire without waiting in the line of an impromptu parking lot flower stand. In fact, you can ensure you and your loved one both enjoy a romantic, stress-free Sunday replete with award-winning wines, scenic vistas and gourmet cuisine. How? It’s simple; let the professionals at Lost Creek Vineyard do the work for you.

Lost Creek Vineyard is a recognized addition to the growing Hill Country wine industry. Situated on RR2233, off Hwy 71 between Horseshoe Bay and Gainesville, they opened the doors to their stellar vineyard in 2001. In 2007 owner David and Valerie Brinkman added the Tree House Bistro to the vineyard’s attractions, hoping to compliment the experience of their wine with as savory and unique a menu. Chef Rafael Garcia brings a French flair to the Southwestern cuisine he serves at the Bistro, laced with hints of spice and herbs. The vineyard also offers lodging in two elegantly furnished rooms with seven more in production, which makes Lost Creek Vineyard the perfect weekend getaway.

Tree House Bistro is hosting a Sweetheart Dinner on Valentine’s Sunday after 5:00, where couples can dine at their choice of elegant tables or the 70 foot long Brunswick bar, circa 1870. Each lady will receive a rose and every couple will enjoy Texas Royal Bibb Salad, Beef Bourguignon or Halibut Saltimbocca, Chocolate Covered Crepes and a complimentary glass of champagne. Brunch is also available from 11:00-2:00 and reservations are recommended. To learn more about the vineyard or make a reservation at Tree House Bistro or Tree House Lodging, visit www.lostcreekvineyard.com or call 325-388-3753.
