Take a Trip to Johnson City for BBQ That’s Authentic as it Gets
![]() Looking for authentic Texas barbecue? Finding the real deal is easy in the Hill Country! Located on Hwy 281 in Johnson City, Ronnie’s BBQ offers a vast menu of meats barbecued over oak until it is mouth-watering good. Owner Ronnie Weierhausen has been located in the same building since 1976, and barbecuing for at least the last fifteen years. Ronnie does all of the cooking- making sure that each piece of meat is seasoned just right. The offerings include Brisket, Sausage, Pork Ribs, Chicken, Turkey Breast and a list of sides that will be sure to have you leaving full and wanting to come back for more! They include pinto beans, potato salad, sauerkraut salad, pea salad, corn salad, green beans, banana pudding, and pies that can’t be beat. Make sure you get there early! They serve until they run out, usually around four. Wanting something to start your day? Stop by starting at 5:30 am, and pick up a breakfast taco and some coffee. If you are not in a hurry, sit down and visit- mornings at Ronnie’s offers great food and great conversation. Don’t forget Ronnie’s BBQ for your special occasion or gathering- he will bring the food to you!
