Family Traditions, Texas Value
| Burnet, Texas | August 2010

In Burnet, Texas, there is a car dealership that has built its foundation on treating people right and treating them like family. Cecil Atkission, the son of a West Texas cattleman, was brought up to appreciate hard work. After serving his country in the Vietnam War, Cecil began his career in the auto industry with Capital Chevrolet in Austin. In 1982, Cecil and his wife, Nancy, struck out on their own and opened their own dealership. Today, they own dealerships across the southern half of Texas and all of them are run with the same philosophy of family.

True to the familial atmosphere and small town charm, Cecil Atkission dealerships, in Burnet, Hondo, Orange, Kerrville, and Uvalde, rely on treating customers right and that keeps them coming back. Often times, as in bygone eras, grateful customers express their gratitude with pies, cookies, or tamales, which not only reflects the level of service that is given, but is also a testament to the sense of family.

At each of the dealerships, including Burnet, the staff works, lives, and plays in the community. Cecil believes in supporting each community and does so with gusto, including pouring money into the community and its organizations. They say, “When someone treats you right on price, value, trade-in, and service, there’s simply no reason to do business anywhere else.” At Cecil Motors, they are striving to be the price leader in the Hill Country.

Dave Jenkins, General Manager of the Burnet location, welcomes everybody to Cecil, whether it is to get the best deal on a car or truck or service, or just to stop by and have a cup of coffee, he says, “See ya at Cecil’s!” With 21 years experience in auto sales, Jenkins shares Atkission’s passion for bringing customers what they want and making sure that they are customers for life. He says, “Buying a car is not just dollars and cents. It is the whole package.” He, like Atkission, believes that the relationship with the customer does not end when the deal is done. At the end of the day, being sincerely concerned about treating the customer right and giving them an honest deal is what matters most at Cecil Motors. Prices can be met or beat, but the relationship with the customer is the key. Without that, they are just another dealership. Without that, they wouldn’t be Cecil Motors.

Located near two major highways, US Highway 281 and Highway 29, the Burnet dealership easily serves patrons from Georgetown, Austin, Llano, Lampasas, San Saba, Brady, and more.

They offer an excellent service and parts department, with an all A.S.E. certified team of mechanics. Mr. Atkission is dedicated to ensuring that his service people are trained in the latest technology so that the quality of work is always second to none. They service every make and model of vehicle, and customer satisfaction is demanded.

Although they are rooted in tradition, Cecil Atkission in Burnet strives to stay current, and they even have a Facebook page where cash prizes are given out, as well as a blog and a Twitter!

Operating hours are: Sales - Monday through Friday, 8am to 7pm, and Saturday from 9am to 6pm and Service – Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 6pm and Saturday 8 am – 3pm. They are located at 2601 South Water, Burnet, Texas.

Next time you are visiting the Hill Country, stop by and have a cup of coffee with Cecil.
