The Texas Pet Expo is the first show of its kind in North Texas and guarantees to be the ultimate source of education, entertainment, expert care – and fun - for pet owners of all kinds.
The two-day event will feature exhibits, shows and demonstrations presented by some of the leading pet authorities and trainers from across the country.
The inaugural Texas Pet Expo will open its doors on November 6, 2010 at the Plano Convention Center in Plano, Texas. Countless pet owners from across North Texas are expected to attend.
Admission is $10 per person; $5 for seniors 55 and older; $5 for children; under 5 is free. Parking is free.
EXHIBITORS
During its introductory year, the Texas Pet Expo will be home to the largest indoor pet show in North Texas and host many of the leading manufacturers, top retailers and pet-specific service companies in the industry.
Exhibitors who have already signed up will showcase their latest, pet-friendly products that are available to owners, as well as demonstrate the hottest technologies and services offered in the pet industry today.
From exotic birds and snakes to dogs and cats, pet owners of all kinds will find everything they need - including sample products and discounted services to expert advice on pets – all under one roof.
EXPERTS
The Texas Pet Expo will host some of the world’s leading pet experts who will cover topics on obedience training to general pet care, to name a few. Pet owners will have the chance to meet one-on-one with professionals who specialize in the care of pets of all shapes and sizes.
ENTERTAINMENT
There will be no end to the amount of fun and excitement for pet owners of all ages. Featured shows, which are free with paid admission, include Twiggy the water-skiing squirrel, Star Dog Entertainment Frisbee and Agility dogs, The Amazing Acro-Cats, Larry the Bird Man, The Happy Dragon and A One-of-Kind Pony Party’s petting zoo.

Just how big is the pet market? According to the American Pet Products Association (APPA) spending on pet supplies, and OTC medicines increased from $9.8 Billion in 2008 to $10 billion in 2009, despite the slow economy. And the APPA projects continued growth of 2% in 2010.
In 2008, $3.2 billion dollars was spent on pet services, which was projected to grow more than 6% to $3.4 billion in 2009. And veterinary services were projected to grow 9.9% in 2009.
Adding to that, the size of the U.S. pet insurance market was close to $332 million in 2008, up from approximately $272 million in 2009 (a 22% increase) and that number is expected to reach $400 million in 2010 and will continue to grow to $600 million by 2013.
Because the Texas Pet Expo will be the first of its kind in North Texas, it promises manufacturers, retailers and service providers of pet products access to this virtually untapped market of pet enthusiasts.
