The old saying “Birds of a feather flock together” couldn’t be truer for patrons of Hen House Café in Comfort. Those who love great food and good times just naturally find their way to the tables in this hometown restaurant, where the food is always tasty and always, absolutely, made
from scratch.
Five years ago, Wendy Jimenez and her husband, Daniel, found themselves the owners of the Hen House and haven’t stopped running since. Although Wendy was a waitress and was, in fact, named in Texas Monthly as the “quintessential waitress”, she never expected to find herself the owner of her own restaurant! But now that she does, it is full speed ahead!
Featuring huge Angus burgers, yummy enchiladas, scrumptious salads and more on their expansive menu, means that there is no way you will leave hungry. The prices are reasonable, and the service is the icing on the cake. To make it even better, Wendy says they are now offering new “Lunch Bunch” Specials; buy five lunch specials and get the sixth free! Can’t beat that!
On Friday and Saturday, the Hen House Café serves up delicious dinners. Stick around on Saturday night, and you will be treated to live music!
Once the Hen House Café got going, Wendy and Daniel figured the next step was to open up the Cocky Rooster Bar. Located behind the Hen House Café, the Cocky Rooster is the only full liquor bar in Comfort, and hosts live music, as well as Dart Tournaments on Tuesdays and Pool Tournaments on Thursday. The bar is open seven days a week.
