On Saturday, November 12th, make plans to head to Johnson City for a wonderful, family-oriented, old-fashioned street dance from 3 pm – 10 pm, weather permitting. The purpose is to recognize and benefit our Blanco County Firefighters who have done an extraordinary job protecting us during this extreme drought, but at the same time have worn out equipment and tires at a far above average rate. There will be areas set up if you would like to donate to a specific fire department, however it is not required to come enjoy the street dance.
Several bands will be performing, with more continually being added to the list of talented musicians. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic baskets, and coolers, and plan to spend the day here in our area. Not only will you be able to shake a boot, but if you visit any participating merchants in Blanco County, including Blanco, Johnson City, and Round Mountain, all of your purchases that day will go towards proceeds to be donated to our fire fighters and stations. So be sure to check our website or local newspapers to find out which merchants are sponsors and please shop/eat at those merchants so that a portion of your spending can benefit our ‘oh so awesome’ firefighters. Even if you can’t enjoy the street dance you ‘can’ help support our fire fighters by spending your money with participating merchants that day!
Not only will there be plenty of music, but activities such as face painting as well as fire trucks on display for viewing will be happening at the Street Dance. The Street Dance will take place on the south side of the Blanco County Courthouse on Pecan Drive which will be closed off for this event. For details, go to www.johnsoncitytexaschamber.com. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing y’all at the Street Dance!
