‘The Eggmen’ Performs Beatles Magic Feb. 11 For Spicewood Arts Fundraiser

The Eggmen, Austin’s premier Beatles’ tribute band, will be in concert at 7 p.m., Sat., Feb. 11, for the Spicewood Arts Society’s 2nd Annual Fundraiser for scholarships for area high school students. (www.eggmen.com)

Tickets for the performance and hors d ‘oeuvres – $75 each – can be purchased online at the nonprofit’s website: www.spicewoodarts.org or by calling 512-264-2820.

“Seating is limited this time, so that we can accommodate more dancing,” said Janey Richardson, president of the 12-year-old arts organization. “After all, it is close to Valentine’s Day! We are expecting another successful sell-out, thanks to our loyal members, patrons and sponsors.”

“This past May, we funded $3,000 in fine arts scholarships to qualified Lake Travis and Marble Falls seniors pursuing higher education in the performing, visual or literary arts,” Richardson noted. “We anticipate expanding the value of scholarships to $1,000 each this year.”

The concert will be at the Spicewood Vineyards Events Center (1419 Burnet CR 409, www.spicewoodvineyards.com), about 18 miles from Marble Falls, 35 miles from Downtown Austin and three miles off Texas Hwy. 71.

Chef Taylor Hall, A.O.S., of Spicewood, owner of Chef Taylor Hall Dinner Party services, will host the “Meet the Artists” reception (www.cheftaylorhall.com). Spicewood Vineyards wines are available for purchase before, during and after the show.

John Burgess (acoustics, harmonica), “Tommo” Burgess (keyboards), Ron “Nigel” Roberts (bass guitar), John “Basil” Kovacs (guitar) and Davy Fore (drummer), collectively known as “The Eggmen, originally formed in 1992. They have been voted the No. 1 “Best Cover Band” for eight years in the Austin Chronicle Music Poll.
