Killeen Salutes the Arts with “Take 190 West”
Don’t Miss This Arts Festival, Feb. 27-Mar. 3

The City of Killeen and Killeen ISD will celebrate the arts during the week of February 27th – March 3rd at the “Take 190 West- Killeen Salutes the Arts” 4th annual festival. Prepare to engage all your senses at The Killeen Civic & Conference Center at 3601 S. WS Young Drive.

This beautiful 64,000 sq. ft. center will be a kaleidoscope of vibrant color and glorious sounds! It will be filled to the brim with every nook and cranny chock full of amazing talent you don’t want to miss!

Feast your eyes on 23,400 sq. ft. of exceptional student art from our wee folk! Other activities will include a book writing contest and graphic arts exhibition. Come view the children’s art Monday – Saturday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Saturday March 3, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, the doors are open to the public. It is free to meet, Greet, and Shop from a delightful 11,300 sq. ft. array of professional art in various media. Meet some wonderful authors and listen to readings from favorite passages. You can purchase books and request a personally autographed book for yourself or a friend! And if that isn’t enough, regale your senses some more with compressors buzzing and chisels chipping! Meet sculptors from around the country demonstrating their amazing talents by carving blocks of limestone in a short two-day contest. Cheer on your favorite while they compete for cash prizes! Their works are for sale as well, but will be displayed for one year in the community! Other artisans will demonstrate metal sculpting, pottery, and jewelry making. It’s fun for the whole family!
