50th Annual Hunters BBQ & Outdoor Expo Set for Nov. 2 at Bandera’s Mansfield Park
Since 1962, the community of Bandera County has demonstrated its appreciation to the thousands of hunters who call Bandera “home” for the whitetail deer hunting season each year. Fifty years ago, the Bandera County Chamber of Commerce decided it was high time to show appreciation to the hundreds of deer hunters who visited Bandera County each fall. The hunters were fed by the local ranchers in those early days. The Bandera Hunters BBQ was an instant success and has become a true Hill Country tradition. On November 2nd, we expect the 50th Annual Hunters BBQ & Outdoor Exposition to be bigger and better than ever. For the 50th anniversary of this event, some of the old-timers are back with us to prepare the briskets the old-fashioned way!
The County Chamber of Commerce Hunters BBQ and Outdoor Expo is a fun-filled, community-wide event that not only signals the start of whitetail deer hunting season in Texas, but also welcomes a huge number of hunters and visitors to Bandera County. This event draws approximately 5,000 folks into Bandera, including retailers, ranchers, families, and professionals who all mingle for the fun, thrill of the hunt, and the friendship and good times that follow.
Meal tickets will be $10 for adult and $8 for children. Serving starts at 5 p.m. Charlie Montague will be performing at the BBQ. The highlights of the Expo will be exhibitors and displays showcasing the latest in hunting equipment, guns, knives, recreational vehicles, deer blinds, feeders, and outdoor supplies, as well as local exhibitor's wares and gift ideas.
After the meal follows the famous giant twenty-five gun raffle and an auction that has something for everyone including quality hunting equipment, hunting trips, gifts, and much more. Kids as well as adults can relax and enjoy the BB gun shooting gallery and interactive hunting exhibits.
There is going to be a good combination of great food, great music, some interesting exhibits, and a great auction. It will be a fun night out for families and hunters.
