Looking for a fun-filled weekend? Come celebrate Mardi Gras in Downtown Port Arthur, Southeast Texas style, from Thursday, February 7, through Sunday, February 10, 2013, with parades large and small.
Don’t miss the Valero Krewe of Krewes or Total Majestic Krewe of Aurora Grand Parade with large, New Orleans style floats tossing lots of beads, cups, and doubloons for all to catch and enjoy.
On Sunday, the Richard Industrial Group Motor Parade features anything and everything that rolls with over 75 entries. The Royalty March, inside the entertainment area, highlights area krewes and their royalty – kings and queens.
A state ride quality carnival with midway is located outside the entertainment area (so no admission fee is required to enjoy the carnival) with one price wristbands available for any one day.
Ten concerts offer music genres for all tastes! Famous Country artist Eastin Corbin and Chris Cagle will hit the main stage, and Mardi Gras wouldn’t be Mardi Gras without the sounds of Zydeco. Don’t miss C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Louisiana Band, Joel Martin Project, Chubby Carrier, and the Bayou Swamp Band. Visitors can also enjoy the sounds of Phillip Glyn Band, Whiskey Meyers, Greg Martinez, and the Delta Kings.
See street entertainment by Darrell the Fire Eater and Jerry the Money Man, just to mention a few, while enjoying Cajun food along with plenty other choices available from over 50 food vendors.
