Starting at the tender age of 9, Chef John assisted his mother in the kitchen of the restaurant she ran, and continued his journey through the years; graduating in 1989 from the California Culinary Academy, one of the leading institutes in the United States. He has lived in San Antonio for over a decade, and came to the Spring Branch Bistro after serving as Head Chef at Rigianos in San Antonio for several years.

Striving to make fine dining something that even the most budget-conscious can enjoy, Chef John has created a community-based, affordable, yet high quality and family friendly environment that can truly be enjoyed by all. The more refined ambiance lends itself well to hosting business dinners, yet is relaxed enough to allow families quality time together.
