January 28
San Marcos Education Fair
10am-2pm. San Marcos Conference Center, 1001 E. McCarty Lane. This is the area’s only citywide education fair for San Marcos families where information will be provided to all attendees in both Spanish and English. The goal this year is to reach all San Marcos families, especially the youths and parents of Spanish speaking households. This will provide a one-stop shopping approach to the educational services and non-profit organizations that are available to serve families in San Marcos. Education Fair participants will disseminate important educational messages and useful information to thousands of students and their parents who live in San Marcos. In addition, participants will assist in connecting underserved students and families to important resources in their community using a one-stop approach. Finally, participants will also help to develop the capacity of their own non-profit organization by increasing their visibility in a community-wide event. This Education Fair is a project of SOAR – San Marcos Educational Partners. SOAR includes partners such as the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce, Texas State University, San Marcos CISD, Austin Community College, Gary Job Corps and the San Marcos Education Foundation to name a few. Your tax deductible donation can be made directly to the San Marcos Education Foundation, a 501-C-3 non-profit charitable organization. As a partner in this project, they are accepting donations on SOAR’s behalf.
