Sparrowfest Workshop
Flying X ranch, BCNWR, 89365 S. FM 1174. SparrowFest is conducted as a one-day workshop and fundraiser for Friends of Balcones Canyonlands NWR with field trips in the morning and afternoon, lunch and a sparrow slide show at mid-day, and an optional "Sparrow Countdown and Dinner" in the evening after the last field trips. This year, our three field trip leaders (Byron Stone, Bill Reiner and Randy Pinkston) will escort about 35 festival participants divided into three groups morning and afternoon to several different refuge tracts and two different private properties adjacent to the refuge.
