Celebrate the Cibolo Gala

6pm. Under the oaks at Cibolo Nature Center. Boerne and San Antonio-area environmental, business, civic and social leaders will come together for the Cibolo Nature Center’s 17th annual gala.

“Celebrate the Cibolo – the Nature of Our Community” is the theme for 2012, celebrating the non-profit organization’s deep roots in the greater Boerne-San Antonio community, which has supported it for more than 24 years.

Don and Lou Celia Frost are the honorary co-chairs of the gala. Frost/Lou Celia and Don Frost, Bettie Burton and Ed Sypniewski, Jefferson Bank and Drought, Drought and Bobbitt, LLP, are underwriters for the event. All proceeds from the gala will support the CNC’s environmental-education programs and activities for children and adults.

“The annual Celebrate the Cibolo gala is our primary fundraising event and it enables us to fulfill our mission to conserve natural resources through education and stewardship,” said Carolyn Chipman Evans, executive director of the Cibolo Nature Center. “We’re excited because the word is spreading and the gala is already filling up.”

The Grateful Geezers will return again this year to perform their signature Texas-style blues, R&B, rock and jazz. The event will also feature a live auction and a new “Chinese auction,” which combines elements of a raffle and an auction.

For information on how to donate to support the gala and corporate sponsorship opportunities, or to purchase tickets, contact Susan Burton at . Tickets and tables also may be purchased online.

Gala volunteers also are needed. Contact Georgia Galey at volunteer@cibolo.org or (830) 249-4616, Ext. 115.
