Saturdays
Solo jazz piano every Saturday evening at the Uptown Blanco Restaurant, 317 Main St., 6:30pm-9:30pm. Larry Natwick performs selections from the Great American Songbook. Repertoire includes compositions by Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk.
February 4
Uptown Blanco Courtyard, 317 Main. Make it dinner and a concert at the outstanding Uptown Blanco Restaurant adjacent. An Austin based “classical band”, strives to cultivate both an understanding of classical music and an appreciation for its place in modern society as a relevant, living art form. Pianist Carla McElhaney and cellist Joel Becktell bring their many collective years of orchestral, solo, and chamber music experience to present an exceptional classical music experience that is devoid of all pretension, and yet exhibits the highest artistic caliber. Their program includes works by Popper, de Falla, Piazzolla, and Rachmaninoff.
