5pm-6pm. Inks Lake State Park, 3630 Park Road 4 West. After a brief safety and basic fishing skill instruction, children will get a chance to go fishing with a Park Ranger and a Master Naturalist. This is a catch and release program that introduces fishing to our youngsters. A limited amount of fishing equipment (including poles and bait) is available to check out through the Tackle Loaner Program at the park, or bring your own. Adult supervision is highly recommended.

1:30pm-3pm. Inks Lake State Park, 3630 Park Road 4 West. Take in the natural beauty as we paddle along the flat water of Inks Lake and discover the features of Stumpy Hollow. Hear about the history of the lake, learn about local flora and fauna, and share your love of the kayak experience. A limited number of one-person kayaks are available at the park for rent or you may bring your own for a reduced rate. All participants will be required to wear a life jacket during the duration of the trip. Experience is highly recommended and participants must be 13 or older to join us. Reservations required, with a program minimum, deadline 7pm the evening prior to the event.
Fees/Admission $15 per person.

1pm-4pm. Inks Lake State Park, 3630 Park Road 4 West. With over seven miles of maintained trails, the park has areas in the backcountry few people ever get to experience. This hike explores much of this area offering overviews of the Llano uplift, Inks Lake and a variety of plant and animal life. Hikes are five-to-six-miles long, are strenuous, and previous hiking experience is recommended. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Wear good walking shoes, bring water and a hat. Meet at the parking lot just south of Park Headquarters.

7:30pm-8:30pm. Inks Lake State Park, 3630 Park Road 4 West. The Austin Astronomical Society will host an astronomy program for interested visitors. Highlights of the event include learning the constellations, viewing the moon, planets such as Venus and Saturn, as well as multiple nebulas and galaxies. Bring a lawn chair, binoculars and a flashlight with the lens covered with red tissue paper or plastic wrap. Meet at the Pecan Flats Trailhead parking lot.
