Comfort is filled with clever autumn scarecrow creations. Scarecrows mimic nursery rhymes, characters of all types. Winners have signs posted in front of their businesses or in yards of residences. Scarecrow Invasion kicks off Oct. 16, 10 am-2 pm, in the Downtown Historic District. Music, live scarecrows, face painting, photo ops, pumpkins, cornstalks, and more!

Saturday 10am-5pm. Sunday 10am-4pm. Comfort Park, 4th St. and Main St. Antiques lovers from throughout the state will gather in the Texas Hill Country for the 25th annual Comfort Village Fall Antiques Show on Saturday and Sunday, October 15 and 16. Knowledgeable and friendly dealers, the country setting, and the hospitality of the town of Comfort make this a very popular show. The show features American antiques, including farm tables, cupboards, quilts, rugs, baskets, pewter, and many interesting surprises. The show also includes dealers in jewelry, china, Indian collectibles, old store collectibles, and advertising, architectural and gardening pieces. Plan to come for the day or stay for the weekend and enjoy one of the many historic bed-and-breakfasts in Comfort.
Fees/Admission $5 per person, good both days. Rain or shine (area is covered). Children 12 and under free.
