6:30pm. Silver Sage Corral, 803 Buck Creek Dr. Come to jam, dance, or just listen to the music! Bring a dish for the pot luck and help yourself to a plate. Whether just getting started or if you are a seasoned musician, have fun joining in on the extemporaneous-style of an evening jam session. Held monthly, January through October.

5pm-6pm. Inks Lake State Park, 3630 Park Road 4 West. After a brief safety and basic fishing skill instruction, children will get a chance to go fishing with a Park Ranger and a Master Naturalist. This is a catch and release program that introduces fishing to our youngsters. A limited amount of fishing equipment (including poles and bait) is available to check out through the Tackle Loaner Program at the park, or bring your own. Adult supervision is highly recommended.

Steve W. Shepherd Theater, 1668 Highway 87 South. Join the Fredericksburg Theater Company as they celebrate another season. FTC's production will be "The Diary of Anne Frank," the story of one young girl's indominitable spirit captured in her diary. This story will touch you deeply. All performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm. No performance on Friday, September 17 in honor of Yom Kippur; alternate on Thursday, September 23.

7pm-10pm. Da Vino & Da Vinci facility, 305 E. Main. Bring your friends, family and/or partner and partake in a delightful evening of creativity, socializing, and immense fun! All art supplies will be furnished as you are guided by an experienced art teacher, step by step, through the process of painting "Curly the Chicken," a whimsical and cute painting originally painted by TASTE Wine+Art artist, Terrell Powell from South Austin. You will leave the class with your new "masterpiece" in hand! No art experience is necessary-you will develop and learn while you have fun, along with the pride you'll have when you tell others: "I painted that!" Class size is limited.

Robbins-Lewis Pavilion, Schreiner University. 14th annual event, formerly the Texas Heritage Living History Day. “Another Way of Learning Using Stories and Songs. 4pm-6pm, at the historic Union Church on the festival grounds the Texas Folklore Society and THMF will co-host a panel on the songs of Texas. More than 50 performers and presenters will be spread throughout the park surrounding the pavilion to both entertain and educate, including Aztec Dancing, chuck wagons, Native American exhibits and stories, Texas singers and songwriters and more. Noon tribute to former Kerrville resident and “Father of Country Music” Jimmie Rodgers. A take home educator’s packet will be available to all teachers.

William Shakespeare's great comedy involves a beautiful and gentle Bianca, who has no shortage of admirers but her father insists that she will not marry until her shrewish sister, Katharina, is betrothed as well. Only the wild Petruchio is up for the task, and even that has its price. The audience is in for a rollercoaster of crazy and hilarious antics, witty sarcasm, and a bout of wildness that can only be tamed by true love.
