Life-sized, artistically rendered deer will be on display all about the Llano area.

On and around the courthouse square. Sponsored by Llano Main Street. Llano River Chuck Wagon Cook-off in Badu Park. Don Edwards, composer, balladeer, and Cowboy Hall of Fame icon, and dubbed “the voice of the American cowboy” will have a concert on Sat. at the LanTex Theater at 7pm. Advance tickets are $12 and $15 at the box office. For ticket information call Llano Chamber of Commerce, 325-247-5354, Nail Head Spur, 325-247-2589 and Enchanted Rocks and Jewelry, 325-247-4137. 2nd annual Llano Ranch Rodeo at the Llano arena will start Sat. night at 6pm with wild cow milking, team sorting, trailer loading and branding. There will be a dance following. The Brazos Bottom Cow O’graphers will be on the square both days with fun entertainment and gun fights. Vendors, food, living history, quilt show, courthouse tours, antique photography display, period dress contest, and music. Performances scheduled are John Arthur Martinez, Floyd Domino and friends, and local Llano bands. Authentic stagecoach for rides along the Llano River. Red Top Jail opens for tours. Everyone is encouraged to dress in period costume. Come and have a fun filled adventure.
October 15-17, 2010; October 14-16, 2011
Each year a group of chuckwagon enthusiasts get together on the banks of the Llano River in Llano, Texas and go back in time to an era when the west was settled. These enthusiasts use traditional cooking methods from that era, wear traditional dress and experience traditional neighborly fun as they compete for prizes in a number of categories. Fri., wagons are set up in the morning with judging in afternoon. Sat., from 10am until 2pm, the competing teams begin preparing some of the tastiest chuck wagon fare imagineable. Food is sent to the judges by noon. Public meal is served from noon to 1pm. Tracy Pitcox's Heart of Texas Music Festival, The Llano Country Opry, Recording Artist Justin Trevino, CGMA Award Winner Jenny Taylor, K. R."Camp Cookie" Wood and our own Highway 16 Band, plus a few surprise guests. Sun., cowboy breakfast and cowboy church. Food will be served first come first served basis.
