9am-4pm. Cibolo Nature Center, 140 City Park Rd. In partnership with the city of Boerne and the Cibolo Nature Center, The Texas Stream Team will offer a free water-quality monitoring training session to certify volunteers to collect water samples that will be used to make environmentally sound decisions. Texas Stream Team monitors collect data on water pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, E. coli bacteria and other factors and make field observations. Trainees will assist in monitoring water quality in the Upper Cibolo Creek Watershed and be able to take their skills to other water bodies throughout Texas. Limited to 20 participants. 5pm-6pm. Inks Lake State Park, 3630 Park Road 4 West. After a brief safety and basic fishing skill instruction, children will get a chance to go fishing with a Park Ranger and a Master Naturalist. This is a catch and release program that introduces fishing to our youngsters. A limited amount of fishing equipment (including poles and bait) is available to check out through the Tackle Loaner Program at the park, or bring your own.
